We're delighted you're here.
Awalio was created by two friends, Elliott and Kern, who met while teaching at the same Bahrain international school in 2015.
Like so many friendships in golf, ours started with a simple invitation to play. Before long, those rounds became a regular tradition with our group, the Awali Breakfast Club (ABC).
Living in the Bahraini desert meant that, for some of the year, the only sensible way to play was to tee off at 5:00 a.m., finishing just as the heat became unbearable. It sounds crazy, but those sunrise rounds have given us some of our best memories, biggest laughs and strongest friendships.
Every golf society has its own personality. Ours was built around friendly competition, getting far too excited about the next golf holiday, questionable swing advice and sitting together afterwards in the clubhouse, picking apart every scorecard.
But when members couldn't make it, we noticed something.
They weren't just asking for the final scores. They wanted the whole story.
The photos. The scorecards. The jokes. The triumphs. The meltdowns. The conversations.
They still wanted to feel part of the day.
That was the idea behind Awalio.
We wanted somewhere that captured the way we actually experience golf. Not just keeping score, but sharing rounds, following our friends, analysing our games, arranging the next tee time and remembering the moments that make us want to play again.
Because long after you've forgotten exactly what you shot, you remember the ridiculous birdie, the terrible drive, the match that went down the last and the people who were there with you.
Awalio is our attempt to bring all of that together. To record your golfing journey. To share it with your buddies. To make the next round easier to organise. And, hopefully, to help create a few more stories worth remembering.
And now that you're here, we hope you'll become part of the Awalio community too. Play your rounds, share the moments that matter and bring your golf buddies along for the journey.
We built Awalio around our golfing friendships. We hope it becomes part of yours.
Because, at its heart, Awalio was never really about golf.
It was always about the people you play it with.
